Blechh. Maybe I’m a little blogged out; too many people with too much to say. Searching google blogs tended to gather better results for me, but perhaps it was just the search subject. Top 100 blogs is a cool feature if you’ve got hours to scan through such things. And the top photos and videos. Again, though, where’s the time?
I feel like I can now strip apart my aging bicycle, put it back together, and ride it to work! See delicious button. Or not… what is it with these buttons?

I tried. WordPress won’t allow this to happen? So, a link to my library is now in the link section.

LibraryThing: Finally! Something I know a little about Trying to create a widget so anyone can browse my (outdated) library. Input is time consuming, but it was fun for a while – I’m afraid I’ll go over my 200 book free limit soon though.

Whoa, this image generator thing is pretty cool. Kids would have too much fun with this!

Gee, kids don’t want to friend their mothers . . . can you imagine why? I had to change my picture (couldn’t deal with the real me I guess) and haven’t done much with the page at all. I’m finding it all so time consuming, but do see advantages for the library having it’s own page. Maybe we’ll get to it someday. Soonish.

Please visit Windsor Public Library BookYak to see our latest effort to drag teens into the library’s realm! It only took 3 people and a couple hours. . .

O.K., I might have thrown a minor fit about a year ago when I found out both my kids had accounts (facebook and yahoo 360) even though I had said it probably wasn’t a good idea. Which in my mind meant “NO! Some crazy kook will stalk you.” After looking over the pages and reading their (and all their friends) stuff, reading up on social networking, and attending the Teens and Technology workshop, I’ve lightened up.
So much so that I’m actually going to create an account in my own name. Trepidation!! No really, I’m going to do it.
Social software would be great to bring awareness of the library to the community. Seems like it could take a LOT of time though! We’d have to hire another librarian or have a volunteer willing to spend many hours to reach all target groups (children, teens, homeschoolers, moms, the list goes on forever).

After hours trying to embed a really cool site, I’m giving up. How depressing. The link is on the sidebar Lookybook.com Time to move on. . .
